Q4: Is it possible to use multiple heaters with one mold temperature controller?

Name

Role PV Displays the current value or setting mode character. SV Displays the set value, output value, or selected input value of the setting mode screen.

A: Possible. However, please be sure to observe the operating current value of the mold temperature controller. Also, please limit the number of heater terminals connected to one terminal to two. If three or more terminals are used, please use a heat–resistant terminal block to make a branch connection.

Q5: The temperature does not rise easily. Or the control is not stable.

A: When the control method is PID control, the temperature is adjusted according to the values of P (proportional band), I (integral time) and D (differential time). The cause may be that each value is not optimal for your environment, so perform auto–tuning according to the following procedure. ※ In some cases, tuning can be completed in a few minutes, but in some cases it may take more than an hour.

1 Display switching 2 Change of setting mode screen

After changing to the control parameter mode, press the MODE key four times to switch the screen to the control type setting screen. Use the UP and DOWN keys to change the setting. 3 PID (Factory default)/ON/OFF settings

After changing to the control parameter mode, press the MODE key seven times to switch the screen to the tuning setting screen. Use the UP and DOWN keys to change the setting. 4 Self (Factory default)/Auto tuning settings

Use this key to increase or decrease (change) the set value. Press and hold to increase or decrease the value faster.

Press and hold the MODE key for 2 seconds to change the display.

When the setting mode screen is displayed, press the UP key to switch from < initial setting mode > < control parameter mode > .

○ Do not install the product in a hot place, a place exposed to direct sunlight, a place near an air conditioner, or a place with high humidity. Extremes of 30°C or more and below 0°C may cause malfunction, deformation, or failure. Do not install the product in a humid environment exceeding 85%, or in a place where ice or condensation forms, as this may cause insulation failure, resulting in fire or electric shock. ○ In order to prevent electric shock in the event of an electric leak, please install a ground wire. < Location where ground wire can be installed > • Copper pieces buried more than 65 cm underground • Places where installation work (Class D) has been performed ○ Do not touch the terminals immediately after the power is turned off. The SSR built–in snubber circuit is charged with electric charge, which may cause electric shock.

Q6: The set temperature cannot be set above a certain value.

• Precautions for KCHD (2ch) If the wiring is done as shown in the figure on the right, the total current of all channels (max. 60A) will flow and exceed the allowable current of the wires used. Exceeding the permissible use may cause overheating and ignition, which is extremely dangerous. Be sure to prepare separate input and output power supplies for each channel.

A: There is a possibility that the limiter is applied to the set temperature. (After turning on the power, press and hold the "MODE" key for 2 seconds > << SET1 screen >>> " ▲ " key once > << SET2 screen >>> "MODE" key once > << SLH screen >> . The temperature displayed at the bottom of the SLH screen is set to the upper limit temperature, so press the " ▲ " key to increase the upper temperature limit.) Q7: The temperature error is large. A: Please check if the temperature sensor is installed too far away from the object to be heated. Also, if the temperature sensor and the power line (AC power supply) are close to each other, it may get affected by noise. In that case, keep them away from the power line. In addition, the following two points may be considered. 1. Check whether the actual type of temperature sensor (K thermocouple, J thermocouple, resistance thermometer, etc.) and the input type setting of the mold temperature controller are correct. (After turning on the power, press and hold the "MODE" key for 2 seconds > << SET1 screen >>> "MODE" key once > << Input type setting screen >> will be displayed. Set the following parameters according to the type of temperature sensor. K Thermocouple: "00" J Thermocouple: "01" Resistance temperature detector Pt100Ω: "10") 2. Check if the input correction value is set. (After turning on the power, press and hold the "MODE" key for 2 seconds > << SET1 screen >>> "MODE" key 3 times > << PV correction zero point setting screen >> will be displayed, so set the correction value to zero.) Q8: The temperature keeps rising and cannot be controlled.

■ Before use

● KCHH (Three–phase/1ch)

• In the event of an overcurrent, the circuit breaker shuts off the power supply to protect the internal equipment. Please confirm whether there is no abnormality in the operation of this unit and the connected heater. If there is any abnormality in this unit, please stop using and contact MISUMI. • When the SSR of the internal equipment is damaged, the power circuit may short–circuit (short–circuit) and the heater output may become impossible to stop. It is very dangerous because it does not accept the control of the temperature controller, resulting in a heating error. If any abnormality is observed, please stop using the product and contact MISUMI. • If more safety is required, install a safety circuit to shut down the primary power supply. Even if the alarm function is malfunctioning and the instrument is operating abnormally, the instrument can be safely stopped by cutting off the power supply. • The closer the load current approaches the maximum value, the higher the internal temperature of the instrument becomes. In a high temperature environment, the product life of the internal equipment may be reduced, so be sure to use the product with a margin in relation to its ratings and take safety measures.

Q1: What are the different types of temperature control and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

A: The SSR inside the mold temperature control controller may be damaged, so stop using it immediately. For repairs, please contact and send the actual product. We will confirm whether we can repair the product or not, and if so, we will inform you of the price and delivery date.

A: Temperature control can be selected from the following types.

Advantages

Disadvantages

Easy to overshoot

ON/OFF control Quick temperature rise

ON/OFF control

PID control

Overheat can be controlled

Temperature rise takes longer than ON/OFF control

PID control

Auto tuning

Advantages

Disadvantages

Auto tuning self tuning

Optimal control setting values are obtained after tuning. Automatic tuning is performed even when disturbances occur.

Needs to be tuned when environment changes Slight changes in the environment are not recognized as disturbances and may not always result in optimal control settings.

Self tuning

1083

1084

Please check the advantages and disadvantages of each before use. Although the initial value is set to self–tuning for PID control, this may not always be the optimal control setting as described above. In such a case, execute auto–tuning according to Q5.
