PRODUCT OVERVIEW ② GAS SPRINGS FOR PLASTIC MOLD
■ Overview
■ Characteristics
Generally, gas springs are often used for press mold, and such springs were mostly used as is for plastic mold. MISUMI has developed customized for plastic mold. They have excellent features compared with gas springs up to now.
Since nitrogen gas is sealed in the gas springs, large load can be obtained from initial stroke, thus greatly effective in the return of ejector plates. Coil springs are generally used in the return of ejector plates, but the initial load is low when the ejection stroke is long, and as a result stable load cannot be obtained. These problems can be solved by using gas springs.

(1) Heat resistance for use at temperature up to 100 ℃ . Conventional gas springs are designed for press mold, unsuitable for plastic mold in terms of heat resistance. MISUMI ensures that the gas springs can be used for plastic mold at 100 ℃ .

The load is weak, and the ejector plate may not return.
Product
Even at the moment when the ejector plate returns, the load will not become weak, thus further reducing the possibility of malfunction.

(2) Longer stroke than conventional gas springs Long stroke is realized with smaller diameter than conventional gas springs. MIS- UMI ensures that the gas springs are compact with long stroke so that they can be used for plastic mold.

(3) Standardized Gas Spring Holder Holders used for plastic mold have been manufactured separately for customers, but MISUMI has standardized them. By purchasing holders together with gas springs, the customer's work and cost can be reduced.
■ Installation
Step ① Make holes for gas spring on the movable mounting plate and ejector plate (upper and lower) of the mold. (Tapping for holder is also included) It is also possible to make a counterbore hole on the back plate and adjust the length.
Step ② Mount holder onto gas spring
(4) Interchangeability with ISO type Usable as is for ISO users. They are interchangeable with gas springs ISO type (GSK of MISUMI products) currently available on the market. The reason is that the screw hole of the gas spring bottom, body diameter and body length match with ISO type. Users of current ISO type can replace with gas springs for plastic mold without alteration. ※ Note that piston rod diameter and body mounting groove, etc. are different from ISO type.
