The column 2 shall apply to cap screws of 12.9 strength division. However, by agreement between the concerned delivery parties, column 1 can be applied to cap screws of 12.9 strength division. Furthermore, the s (max.) of M 20 and above in nominal designation of screw thread shall apply to all the cap screws strength division and property division. Note ( 2 ): Cap screws having a nominal designation inside a parentheses shall not be used as far as possible. Remarks 1. The flank of head part shall be appended to a parallel or crossed knurl [see JIS B 0951 (knurl)]. In this case, dk (max.) shall be the value marked with ** given in this table. Furthermore, where the cap screws without knurl are required, the orderer shall specify it. However, dk (max.) shall be the value marked with * given in this table. 2. The nominal length (L) recommendable to the nominal designation of screw thread shall be within the frame of bold lines. Furthermore, for L shorter than the position of dotted line, it shall be whole threads and the length of the incomplete thread section at the under–head part shall be approx. 3P. 3. T he Lg (max.) and Ls (min.) for the cap screw, of which the nominal length (L) is longer than the position of dotted line, shall be in accordance with the following formula: Lg (max.) = Nominal length (L)–b Ls (min.) = Lg (max.)–5P
