■ Hard chromate plating on ejector pins
Hard chromate plating for hardness 900HV or higher is applied to base materials of SKH51 for improvement of wear resistance. The thickness of a plating layer of one side ( α ) is 0.001–0.002mm (reference value). By processing a shaft diameter of a base material to be thin in consider- ation of such thickness, the shaft diameter precision is guaranteed after plating. The range of guaranteed plating layer covers the b dimension section; however, plating may extend to the head as it is applied after dimension L,P machining. E The tip surface is also plated. Since the plating layer is too thin for surface hardness testing after plating, the surface hardness is a reference value.
