PRODUCT OVERVIEW SLIDE CORE UNITS FOR TWO–COLOR INJECTION MOLD–WING CAM TYPE–
SLIDE CORE UNITS FOR TWO–COLOR MOLDING (SLIDE AMOUNT 6mm)
■ Overview With the improvement of mold technology, two–color molded products (two–color or two types of resin molded products) have become widely used. They are often used for key tops of computers and illuminated push buttons for car audio equipment. Normally, two–color molding requires a two–color molding machine and a special mold with a reversing mechanism. In addition, if the molded product has an undercut, the structure of the slide core is complicated and advanced design is required. However, MISUMI's SCWM slide core unit for two–color molding makes it easy to design and manufacture molds for two–color molding. ■ Example of operation of slide core SCWM ( ① + ② ) for two–color molding

Two–color molding is facilitated by using the opening and closing of the wing cam. •Mold can be closed by avoiding collision between the secondary cam and slide core (Fig. V) •Return the slide core when opening the die plate after molding (Fig. VII) •Since the mold can be closed with the parts incorporated in the core, it can also be used for manual insert molding.

■ Characteristics A two–color molded slide core has been completed with a special structure that uses a swinging wing cam. ① Space saving The mold can be made one rank smaller than the existing structure. ② Total cost reduction • Achieved low cost due to its simple structure. • Two–color molding is possible just by setting the slide core. Design time and processing cost can be reduced. • No need for troublesome calculations such as slide strokes. ■ Notes • This product is developed for injection molding die. Do not use for any other purpose. • Be sure to apply grease to the sliding surface to prevent it from burning.
